What is waxing?
Waxing is a temporary hair removal method that removes the hair with root and all. Shaving and the use of hair removal creams leave the roots intact so that your hair comes back with stubble. For waxing, your hair stays away from 3 to 5 weeks longer. It's getting softer and getting less. In addition, the dead skin cells disappear, which makes your skin soft and smooth.
When to make an appointment?
If you want hairless on vacation, an appointment 2 or 3 days is ideal. Give the hair follicles even more opportunity before you slip into your bikini. Make an appointment on time: Consider full schedules during the vacation period.
What does a "Brazilian wax" look like "By Martine Sophia" in the salon?
First of all, you are welcome in the salon. While enjoying a cup of tea / coffee or a glass of water, we fill the intake form together.
When everything is spoken, you will get a towel, disposable slip and intimate cloth. You can change your clothes in the salon's toilet room and refresh yourself. Once you have the right "wax outfit" you come back with the towel back into the lounge area and take your place on the treatment table. Here we will explain how we work. If you have any questions, you can always ask them before, during and after treatment. At "By Martine Sophia" there are discretion, hygiene and comfort stand first! This means that we never "double dip" into resin pots and ensure that everything that comes into contact with your body is clean. Brazilian virgin?
Never had a Brazilian wax before, but did you hear many ghost stories about waxes? Waxing is not painless, but much less painful than many will make you believe. The first time is most sensitive because the hairs are then removed for the first time. But from the second time you will notice that it is a lot less sensitive. And did you have the first three treatments? Then only donsy hair is left and that is much less sensitive to waxing. Do you find this all exciting? You can always come by to have some hair removed on your arm and experience the feeling of waxes.
Important to know before a Brazilian wax:
The ideal length is 0.5 to 2 cm
Scrub the skin 1 or 2 days before the treatment: it prevents ingrown hairs afterwards.
Do not use bodylotion, body oil or shower cream on the day of treatment.
Also, if you are having your armpits waxed, do not use deodorant on this day.
If you are very sensitive, take a paracetamol 30 minutes before treatment.
Use our Ingrown-X-it Serum from the first day after your Brazilian wax to prevent hair ingrowth. Wax regularly for optimum results. Depend on your hair growth 3 to 6 weeks after your previous appointment. Your hair must be at least 2 mm long.
Don'ts the first 24 hours after waxing:
Do not have a hot bath or hot shower
Do not lie in the sun or lie under the solarium
Do not go to the sauna
Stay out of the pool and out of the sea
Do not wear tight or non-breathable clothing
Do not use perfumed products on the skin
Do not touch the waxed skin with nails or fingers (and so on!) If they are not spotless; Empty follicles (hair follicles) are easily accessible to bacteria. Just don't touch if possible!
Do not use bronzing creams or creams with greasy oils.
Do not use products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA). These may cause sensitivity and irritation
And after that:
Do not scrub within 3 days after waxing
Do not make an appointment just before or during your period of time if you are more sensitive
Never shave your hair between your wax appointments. This distorts the hair removal cycle!
Use if you sunbathe after 24 hours, a good solar product with a high protection factor
Hygiene is our priority
No double dipping: the spatula with which the wax is applied is never dipped a second time in the wax. We always work with nitrile gloves and ensure that everything that comes into contact with your body is clean.

When is it not possible to wax?
